Dear Dr. Harrigan:
This letter is to inform you that we have ordered the Spacelabs 610 defibrillator. This model has the capacity to monitor as well. I have enclosed the company specification literature for your information.
As the 610 is semi-automatic training consists of an orientation to the machine. ACLS certification is not required.
We have been assured by Spacelabs that we will receive the defibrillator by October 18th and that they will be able to arrange orientation for us by the end of this month.
I will confirm with you by letter that we have received and been oriented to the 610.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information.
Yours truly,
Clinical Administrator
Editor's Note: Note that this response comes almost 10 months after notification by the College. The College wrote in January outlining the requirement and giving a 6-month response time. The College allowed the facility to operate without accreditation and Everywoman's allowed their accreditation to expire. Not quite the diligence one would expect to protect the public.
